🥛 GOAT MILK IN THE KITCHEN 🍎 Goat Milk Apple Cinnamon Bread Pudding
Share
There are certain smells that just scream FALL.
Cinnamon.
Baked apples.
Brown sugar.
Something warm coming out of the oven.
And if all four of those things are happening in the kitchen at the same time?
Nobody needs to know how many servings we ate. 😂🍎
Welcome back to Goat Milk in the Kitchen!
This week we’re taking crisp fall apples, chunks of bread, warm spices, brown sugar, and creamy goat milk and turning them into an old-fashioned comfort-food dessert:
🍎 Goat Milk Apple Cinnamon Bread Pudding
Warm.
Soft.
Cinnamony.
Loaded with apples.
And perfect for one of those cool fall evenings when dessert needs to be served warm.
Preferably with something delicious poured over the top.
We’ll get to that part. 😉
🐐 Why Goat Milk Works So Well Here
Bread pudding is basically built around a custard.
And what does a custard need?
Milk!
The bread soaks up a mixture of eggs, sugar, spices, vanilla, and goat milk before everything goes into the oven.
As it bakes, that mixture transforms ordinary pieces of bread into a soft, rich dessert.
This is exactly the kind of recipe we love for Goat Milk in the Kitchen because we’re not doing anything complicated.
We’re simply taking a familiar recipe and showing another everyday way goat milk can be used.
And this one happens to involve cinnamon and apples.
So…
Nobody is complaining.
🍎 Goat Milk Apple Cinnamon Bread Pudding
What You’ll Need
· 6 cups day-old bread, cut into approximately 1-inch cubes
· 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
· 2 cups goat milk
· 3 large eggs
· ½ cup granulated sugar
· ¼ cup packed brown sugar
· 2 tablespoons melted butter
· 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
· 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
· ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
· ¼ teaspoon salt
Optional but highly encouraged:
· ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
· Raisins
· Caramel sauce
· Powdered sugar
· Vanilla ice cream
We’ll let you decide how serious you want dessert to become.
👩🍳 Let’s Make It!
1. Prepare Your Pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Lightly grease an 8 x 8-inch or similar 2-quart baking dish.
Set it aside while we get everything else ready.
2. Give Those Apples a Little Head Start
Melt about a teaspoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add the diced apples and cook for approximately 3–5 minutes, just until they begin to soften.
You don’t want applesauce.
We’re just taking away a little of that raw crunch before they go into the pudding.
If you happen to sprinkle a tiny bit of cinnamon over them while they’re cooking…
We approve. 🍎
3. Add the Bread and Apples
Place the bread cubes into your prepared baking dish.
Scatter the apples evenly throughout.
If you’re adding pecans, walnuts, or raisins, now is a good time to toss those in too.
Try to distribute everything fairly.
Nobody wants to discover that the person sitting beside them got all the apples.
That is how family arguments begin.
4. Make the Goat Milk Custard
In a large bowl, whisk together:
· Goat milk
· Eggs
· Granulated sugar
· Brown sugar
· Melted butter
· Vanilla
· Cinnamon
· Nutmeg
· Salt
Whisk until everything is well combined.
And just like that…
Goat milk has officially entered dessert. 🐐🥛
5. Pour and SOAK
Slowly pour the goat milk mixture over the bread.
Gently press the bread down with the back of a spoon or spatula so it can absorb the custard.
Now let everything sit for about 15–20 minutes.
This part matters.
We want that bread soaking up all that goat milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and brown-sugar goodness.
Think of it as…
Bread spa day.
It deserves this.
6. Time to Bake
Bake uncovered at 350°F for approximately 40–50 minutes.
The top should be golden brown and the center should look set rather than liquid.
A knife inserted near the center should come out mostly clean.
And your kitchen?
Your kitchen is going to smell ridiculous.
In the best possible way.
🍨 Now Comes the Important Question…
What Are We Putting on Top?
Technically, you can eat this bread pudding exactly as it comes out of the oven.
And it’s delicious.
But…
We have options.
Caramel sauce?
YES.
Powdered sugar?
Absolutely.
Chopped pecans?
Go for it.
Vanilla ice cream melting over warm apple bread pudding?
Now we’re getting serious.
Or you could add a little of that Goat Milk Caramel Apple Dip from our very first Tuesday recipe.
See what we did there? 😉
Our recipes are starting to become friends.
✨ Make It Your Own
This is another recipe that’s easy to change.
Try:
🍏 Granny Smith apples for a more tart flavor.
🍎 Honeycrisp or Fuji for something sweeter.
🥜 Add pecans or walnuts for crunch.
🍇 Add raisins for a more traditional bread pudding.
🍁 Add a little maple flavor for an extra fall twist.
🍫 Add white chocolate chips if you’re feeling adventurous.
Or use a combination of apples.
There are no apple police.
🐐 Goat Milk Kitchen Tip
Bread pudding is actually a great recipe for experimenting with goat milk because the milk is incorporated into a flavorful custard with cinnamon, vanilla, brown sugar, and fruit.
If someone in your family is hesitant about trying goat milk in recipes, baked dishes like this can be an approachable place to start.
And remember:
Goat milk doesn’t automatically make something taste like goat cheese.
Those are two very different things.
We promise the goats aren’t hiding inside the bread pudding.
Although if you leave it unattended…
They’d probably be interested. 😂🐐
♻️ And Here’s Something We Love About Bread Pudding
Bread pudding has traditionally been a way to use bread that’s starting to become stale rather than throwing it away.
Day-old bread actually works better because it can absorb more of that custard mixture without immediately falling apart.
So something that might otherwise have gone to waste gets transformed into dessert.
We like that kind of math.
Old bread + goat milk + apples + cinnamon = dessert.
That’s considerably better than regular math.
❤️ From Our Kitchen to Yours
One of our favorite things about this series is showing that cooking with goat milk doesn’t have to mean making unusual or complicated food.
Sometimes it’s simply taking something familiar and giving it a little farm-fresh twist.
And that’s exactly what this recipe does.
Warm apples.
Cinnamon.
Soft bread.
Creamy goat milk custard.
A little caramel on top.
Maybe a scoop of ice cream.
And suddenly an ordinary Tuesday doesn’t feel quite so ordinary anymore.
So grab a spoon and join us again next Tuesday for another:
